Nope. Once you insert the batteries, it is designed to stay on continuously. Remember that Bring TIM! is also a clock. Simply press the mode button to toggle between Clock Mode and Meeting Cost Calculator Mode (i.e. Time is Money Mode!) Most people switch to Clock Mode when they aren’t using the device.
Bring TIM! is very simple to operate. We wrote the Instruction Manual in plain language (We promise!). If you lost your copy, simply download a new one from our website. We even put a little comedy in the Instruction Manual / User Manual in the event you read it! It is a quick & easy read.
My advice is keep It simple! Most users will simply estimate an average based on those attending the meeting. This method is the fastest way to utilize the device while still getting the point across that “Time Is Money”. This occurs regardless if your estimate is off by a few dollars.
There are a variety of uses for Bring TIM! Obviously, it was first designed to keep your meetings on track. However, others have used the device to:
It all began one fateful day when Brad (the inventor) received a promotion and was asked to attend the weekly management staff meeting. Little did he know that those meetings often lasted 4 hours or more! During those meetings, he thought of all the real work piling up on his desk. It became painfully obvious that Time was in fact Money! After enduring those marathon staff meetings, Brad knew there had to be a better way. The concept of Bring TIM! was born.
To his surprise, Brad searched high and low and didn’t find anyone producing a device like Bring TIM! He wanted the device to be portable, self contained, and inexpensive such that you can simply leave it in a conference room or office. After discussing the idea with his wife, they both agreed it would be a fun project worth pursuing. Read on to hear the short version of how they spent nearly 3 years getting the idea from drawing board to finished product.
While Brad had the vision for the product, he didn’t have the technical expertise to create a working prototype by himself. As fate would have it, he met a talented engineer named Rick Vokoun that enjoyed creating prototypes for people. On a shoestring budget, and quite a few months of effort, a working prototype was born. Once he had “proof of concept”, Brad naively pitched the idea to some large retailers to see if they would like to mass produce it via a licensing deal.
The feedback was unanimous – “No!” While the retailers liked the idea, they didn’t want to invest their time and money to refine it further. In hindsight, who could blame them? Although functional, the first version of Bring TIM! needed a lot of refinement. This was a big reality check and Brad & family were faced with a pivotal decision.
Do they believe enough in the idea to keep pursuing? Or, do they cut their losses? Besides, only big companies can produce products like this….right?
While they knew it would be very stressful, time consuming, and expensive to refine and produce their idea, there was only one answer that felt right to both Brad and his wife. They decided to go for it!
Once that decision was made, they set out to find someone that could refine their prototype into a product that would be more appealing, fun, and functional. Again, as fate would have it, Brad stumbled upon Adam Hocherman; the person that would be pivotal in making Bring TIM! a reality.
After 1 ½ years after the fateful day of meeting Adam Hocherman, Bring TIM! was complete! Brad and his wife could hardly believe that their idea had finally become a reality! They describe the feeling of holding the finished product in their hands as “an experience like no other”!
Now that the product has been launched, we will see how the next chapter in this story plays out! So far, the market feedback has been great and the media buzz had begun. Thank your interest in learning more about the Bring TIM! story!
